“No one is born a woman! In turn of facing the obscene reality and struggles, one turns into one!”, as the quote states, it is true that no one is born a woman but the situations turn them into one. Nowhera Shaik – the journey of an extraordinary woman but she was not born this way. She belonged to a rather underprivileged section of the society and had very little money that would be perfect for her family of 9 people. She was the eldest daughter of the 7 children of her parents Shaik Nanne Saheb and Shaik Bilquis. Being the eldest daughter, a major responsibility fell on her shoulders. She was sincere from a very young age.
In school, she was ostracized by many people as she belonged to an economically weaker section. The little girl then did not understand the reason behind her ostracization but gradually grew up to understand it pretty well. The little girl slowly turned into a teenager with many questions. Whenever any of her relatives would talk to her parents about her marriage, she would reply to them back with a severity which made them back off!
Started her career as an educationist on the ground level by going and teaching students from interiors of the villages which nobody cared about. She took it to her responsibility to initiate the light of education and literacy in the regions that required it. She called it her little mission to help in ending the disparity between rich and poor. She started her way of training housewives so that they can get their monetary empowerment. Her target has always been her tribe – that is the women! The women who instead of having huge potential does not contribute to their self-development! Her journey from a novice young girl to a woman of importance is an exemplary one! That’s all about Nowhera Shaik – the journey.
