Delhi will implement weekend curfews and work-from-home regulations for government employees to fight a surge in Covid cases caused by Omicron. On the other hand, Buses will be fully operating, as will the Delhi metro.
The new limits were announced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who stated that most offices would be required to have half of their employees work from home.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) convened to deliberate on new constraints after the positivity rate in Delhi remained above 5% for two days in succession – a threshold that triggers a red alert under the color-coded Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
Curfew Implementation
To combat COVID, the Delhi Development and Management Authority (DDMA) has decided to implement a curfew on Saturdays and Sundays. All government employees will work from home, except those who provide critical services. Mr. Sisodia told reporters that half of the employees in private offices would work from home.
“Buse and metro services will be fully operational, but only with a mask.” You don’t need to be concerned. “Masks will serve as a shield for you.” Both services had previously been ordered to run at half capacity, which resulted in chaotic long lines and crowds.
Delhi CM Makes a Move
According to reports, the number of people who test positive for every 100 tests is increasing in Delhi. In just 24 hours on Monday, there were 4,099 new cases and one fatality.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, said that he had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today but claimed he was only experiencing minor symptoms.
As part of the “yellow alert” restrictions announced on December 29, Delhi has implemented a night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Cinemas and gyms have been closed, and shops are only open on odd and even days.
