Metro connectivity is helpful to all the people of Bangalore in terms of time consumption, pollution-free concepts, cleanliness, stress-free travel concerns, and many others. The train reaches out to any corner of the city in a matter of minutes. Presently, two lines have been established to track the progress of current work. One is green, and the other is purple. It most likely covers more than 12 areas at any given time. Most metro stations are built in popular areas of the city to benefit residents.
As a part of the second and third phases of the metro rail projects, Bengaluru will have 314 kilometres of metro rail connectivity by 2041, says Anjum Parvez, Managing Director of BMRCL. “The Bengaluru Metro rail project is on track and will be completed for the 175-kilometer commute in the city by 2025,” Parwez said during a session on the future of mobility at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2022. As a part of the second and third phases of the project, Bengaluru will have 314 kilometres of Metro rail connectivity by 2041. The construction of the Metro lines near the airport is also progressing. He also said that the biggest challenges in urban mobility are the integration of multi-modal transport systems and urging people to avail themselves of public transportation instead of their personal vehicles.
BMRCL (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited) is receiving a lot of support from the start-ups in mobility to ensure that commuters have last-mile connectivity. BMRCL is collaborating with a few start-ups to improve the passenger experience on trains while also getting them to their destinations. BMRCL is also talking with the BMRTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) about having bus stops near the metro stations so that it will be helpful to many of the commuters in the city.
