Indian playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known in the film and music industries and loved by Indian music lovers as KK, passed away yesterday, 31st May, at Kolkata after his performance at Nazrul Manch.
The singer had updated his social media platforms during his performance.
With his first singing debut in A.R. Rahaman’s composition, KK had been winning hearts year after year with his captivating voice.
The singer was allegedly sweating profusely during his performance in the contested auditorium where the air conditioners were malfunctioning, and the audience increased beyond the seating capacity creating suffocation. He left the auditorium towards his hotel, where he collapsed and was taken to the CMRI hospital, where it was declared that the singer was brought dead.

The demise of the great singer was marked as an unnatural death by the police, and the negligence of the hotel’s and Nazrul Manch’s authorities are being questioned on their actions. After the post-mortem, the deceased singer was taken for a gun salute by the state government, and he is to be taken back to Mumbai with his family for the last rites.
