Covishield vaccination approved by EU : Germany is the first onboarding
As we all know that Covishield vaccination or covaxin not approved by European union countries. Indians who took either of the vaccines were not able to travel in Europe earlier. European Union’s vaccines regulatory body The European Medicines Agency (EMA), had approved four vaccine products manufactured by Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
But the EU did not allow the Indian vaccines even though Covishield is nothing but India made AstraZeneca. Anyhow the tide changed when the Indian officials restricted the European union’s Digital Vaccine Certificate. But as per the latest agreement it reciprocated. India will allow EU Digital vaccine certificate as the EU states will allow Indian Covishield vaccine certification provided by Cowin India. Well it’s a good news for both the parties. As both sides of people carrying valid vaccines certificates can travel for business and tourism purposes.
Germany is the first one to join the list. And more countries on the way. This will let the Indians to travel in Europe without mandatory quarantine upon arrival. EU did not approve Indian made Bharat biotech’s Covaxin. Lets Hope it will be approved faster as one can take 2 does of it with a short gap. And will be able to travel sooner.
